Description

12 individually packed 90 cm synthetic braided and coated polyfilament absorbable surgical sutures from a copolymer of glycolide and L-lactide (polyglactin 910), violet colour, swaged to a reverse cutting 3/8-circle needle or a 1/2-circle round needle. Sterilised with Ethylenoxide (EO).

High initial strength and excellent handling make braided PGLA well suited for reliable approximation and ligation of tissues requiring short- to medium-term support. Offers greater pliability and more gradual loss of tensile strength than conventional PGA sutures.

CHARACTERISTICS
Glycolide and L-lactide coated polyfilament (braided) absorbable synthetic threads.

Reliable support – high initial tensile strength for short- to medium-term tissue support.
Minimal tissue reaction – biocompatible synthetic material with low tissue response.
Predictable absorption – progressively degraded and absorbed through hydrolysis over a defined period.
Coated braided construction – smooth tissue passage and flexible, comfortable handling.
Excellent knot security – dependable knot holding and easy knot placement.
Violet colour – high visibility against tissue for precise surgical procedures.
Sterile packaging – safe for surgical use.

INDICATIONS
For veterinary use. Typically used for general soft-tissue approximation and ligation, including subcutaneous tissue, muscles and fascia/aponeuroses, selected abdominal-wall closures, ligation of vessels for haemostasis, and selected ophthalmic procedures.

PACKAGING
Box of 12 individually sterilized pouches with swaged (crimped) needle.

AVAILABLE VARIANTS
USP 4/0 to USP 2/0 (or EP1.5 to EP3) with reverse cutting 3/8-circle needle (19mm, 26mm); and USP 4/0 to USP 0 (or EP1.5 to EP3.5) with round 1/2-circle needle (19mm, 26mm).
